James Daniel "Big Danny" Holden

James Daniel “Big Danny” Holden, age 45, of Calhoun passed away Saturday morning January 26th at Gordon Hospital. Danny was born in Floyd County, August 13, 1967, son of Thomas “T.J.” Holden and Martha Bailey Holden. He has lived in Calhoun since 1995 and was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. He loved NASCAR and riding horses and was a fan of Dale Earnhardt and Hank Williams, Jr.. Survivors include his parents, T.J. and Martha Holden of Calhoun, four brothers; Jason Holden and his wife Coatsie of Adairsville, Jody Holden and his wife Katie of Ringgold, Randy Holden and his wife Jo of Virginia, and Bobby Holden of Roanoke, Alabama, four sisters; Lynn Johnson and her husband Gerald of Calhoun, Cindi Davis and her husband Jimmy of Acworth, Melanie Fox and her husband Steven of Calhoun, and Amy Rogers and her husband Louis of Calhoun, several nieces and nephews as well as a number of great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday January 30 at 2:00 PM at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Osterle officiating. Burial will follow in the Oothcalooga Baptist Church Cemetery near Adairsville. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening January 29th from 5 until 8pm at the funeral home. Active pallbearers are Jonathan Wilson, Donald Parks, Louie Reyes, Steven Fox, Wes Thacker, Steve, Todd, and Bob Edwards; they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:15 PM Wednesday. Honorary pallbearers are Gerald Johnson, Scott Thacker, Dean Bailey, Ravee Morrow and Alan Bailey, and special honorary pallbearers are David Adams, Trey Reyes, Blaze Fox and Colton Fox. They are asked to meet at the church at 1:30 PM Tuesday.
