James "Doc" Andrew Ledford

James "Dock" Andrew Ledford, age 62 of Sugar Valley, passed away Thursday, October 13th at his residence. Dock was born January 19, 1949 in Murray County. Son of the late Delmar and Myrtle Baggett Ledford. He was a retired truck driver. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters; Nancy Jo Haley, Robin L. Fowler, and Helen Collins. Survivors include; his wife, Linda Lee Southern Ledford of Sugar Valley. One son, Michael Ledford and his wife Sandra of Calhoun. Two daughters; JoAnn Turner and her husband Danny, and Charlotte Turner and her husband Jimmy both of Sugar Valley. Sisters; Mildred Boatwright and Uner Johnson. Four Half-Brothers; Larry Ledford, Lee Ledford, Delmar "Turkey" Ledford, and Ronnie Ledford. Five Half-Sisters; Faye Wood, Brenda Skinner, Lucille Cook, Loretta Ledford, and Jackie Ledford. Seven Grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00p.m. on Saturday, October 15th from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Rev. Delmar "Turkey" Ledford officiating. Burial will follow in the Fair View Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; Willard Southern, Jeff Worth, Robert Southern, Dustin Southern, Jeremy Southern, and Steve Pritchett. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00p.m. on Friday, October 14th at Thomas Funeral Home.
