Jacky Preston Parker

Jacky Preston Parker, age 63, of Lafayette and formerly of Gordon County, passed away peacefully at his residence Sunday morning August 31st. Jacky was born June 24, 1951 in Gordon County, son of the late John Parker and Tilda Cox Parker. He was a member of Subligna Baptist Church and was employed as a maintenance manager in the textile industry. Jacky loved his family and bass fishing on Weiss Lake. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers; Junior Parker and Russell Parker, and one sister; Shirley Parker. Survivors include his wife; Sonja Champion Parker of Lafayette, two sons; Matthew Parker and his wife Tonja of Calhoun and Trey Hicks and his wife Tiffany of Marietta, one daughter; Leigh Watson and her husband Matt of Villanow, one sister; Jeannie Griffin, four brothers; Roy Parker, Tommy Parker, Buddy Parker and James Parker. Five grandchildren; Matti Parker, Jonathan Hicks, Preston Terrette, Caitlyn Watson, and Parker Watson also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday September 2nd at 2pm from the Subligna Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in the Subligna Cemetery with Zeth Roberson, Zane Roberson, Ethan Champion, Jonathan Griffin, Jacob Griffin and Nathan Goswick serving as pallbearers. The Parker family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
