Jackie Holbert Holsomback

Jackie Holbert Holsomback, age 86 of Sugar Valley, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 9, 2014. Jackie was born on April 27, 1928 in Gordon County. She was the daughter of the late Cicero Calvin Holbert and Eva Sue Brown Holbert. She was a member of the Sugar Valley Church of God, and was formerly employed by Herbcraft. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clayton Holbert; a sister, Lois Fite; and an infant brother and sister. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Donald C. Holsomback of Sugar Valley; three sons, Don Holsomback of Sugar Valley, Bobby Holsomback and his wife Brenda of Sugar Valley, and Clay Holsomback and his wife Sue of Dalton; one daughter, Susan Joyce and her husband Kelly of Villa Rica, GA; two sisters, Hazel Chapman of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Bobbi Gresham of Calhoun; sister-in-law, Robbie Fields and her husband James, brother in law, Sam Holsomback and his wife Nancy; seven grandchildren, Allen Holsomback and his wife Nicole, Zane Holsomback and his wife Jamie, Chase Holsomback and his wife Sarah, Trey Greeson, Emily Bradshaw and her husband Derek, Julie McFarland and her husband Nathan, and Kelly Joyce, Jr. and his wife Ashley; seven great-grandchildren, Lane Holsomback, Hayden Holsomback, Rylee Greeson, Branson Joyce, Eva Kate Holsomback, Joy Holsomback, and Brayden Greeson; several nieces and nephews; and caregiver, Grapell Headrick. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, September 11 at 3:00PM from the Sugar Valley Church of God with the Reverends William Roberts, Dwaine Shadix, Howard Duvall, and Chase Holsomback officiating. Burial will follow in the Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Allen Holsomback, Zane Holsomback, Chase Holsomback, Trey Greeson, Kelly Joyce, Jr., Derek Bradshaw, Nathan McFarland, and Gary Holbert. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Thomas Funeral Home.
