Jackie Lynn Gray

Jackie Lynn Gray, 54, was born in Cobb County, Georgia, on April 28, 1970. She was raised in Fairmount before her family moved to Oakman, where she made her home for many years. Lynn passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, after a long battle with cancer and several months of declining health.

Lynn graduated from Fairmount High School in 1988, where she played on the basketball team and formed lifelong friendships. She went on to build a warm and generous spirit in her career—first at OMC, where she spent many fulfilling years building lasting friendships, and later at HMTX, where she managed claims and logistics with her efficiency and ever-present smile.

Family was Lynn’s greatest joy. She is survived by her devoted husband, Stephen Gray; her daughter, Lauren Taylor (and son-in-law Jeremy Taylor); her cherished grandson, Luke Taylor; her parents, Jackie and Tony Underwood; her sister, Penny Rhinehart (and brother-in-law Thomas Cash); her brother, Michael Underwood; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and two very best friends, Angie Pack and Aimee Lowe, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

An active member of Maple Grove Baptist Church, Lynn poured her heart into organizing activities for the church, and the ladies’ and youth groups. Her faith and compassion touched everyone in her congregation and beyond.

Visitation will be held at Thomas Funeral Home in Calhoun, Georgia, on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral service, presided over by Rev. Stephen Clayton and Shane Cloer, will follow at 2pm Sunday. Lynn will be laid to rest at Fain Cemetery.
