Jack Poarch, Sr., departed this life after sunrise on Sunday, October 18, 2020. Mr. Poarch was born September 30, 1934 in Gordon County to the late Ruben and Olgalee Davis Poarch.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary Kathryn Whittemore Poarch; and siblings, Carlton Poarch, Floyd, Junior, and Johnny McFarland, Minnie Sue Johns, Dorothy Ellis, Shirley Gentry, Mary Lou Chapman; and a granddaughter, Kailey Kathryn Poarch.
Jack was a great Papa weather he was riding four-wheelers, going fishing, hunting, teaching us to drive, or how to throw the ball. He will be forever missed. He was well known in the Red Bud Community driving tractors, and bailing hay, and was a regular at Allen’s grocery most mornings for breakfast.
Jack is survived by his wife, Morene Quinn Poarch to whom he was married 26 years. Together they raised three children, Madison, Bryson, and Bentley Welch.
Mr. Poarch is also survived by his brother, Bobby Poarch and his wife, Jean; children, Janet Densmore and her husband David, Keeva Hall and her husband Tim, Jack Poarch, Jr. and his wife Angelina, Gary Poarch and his wife Terri, Patricia Poarch, Tara Poarch , Ann Boston; Ricky Blankenship and his wife Marie.
Jack had several grandchildren, Bobby Burnett and his wife Jessica, Rick Burnett and his wife Stephanie, Jeremy Hall and his wife Laura, Danielle Poarch, Kevin Poarch, Kendra Johnson, Chase Poarch. Also, he is survived by several great grandchildren, Memphis Polley, Kathryn Polley, Jacob Burnett, Blake Poarch, Colby Poarch, Abby Burnett, Emma Burnett, and Elaine Burnett.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 21 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Isaac Johns officiating. Burial will be in the Crane Eater Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers are, Kevin Poarch, Bryson Welch, Memphis Polley, Ricky Blankenship, Rick Burnett, and Bobby Burnett. Honorary pallbearers are Bentley Welch, Colby Poarch, and Blake Poarch.
