Jack Keith Hobgood

Saturday, November 10, 2007 Mr. Jack K. Hobgood age 81 of 488 Hunt Bend Rd. N.W. Calhoun, died Friday November 9th. following a sudden illness. Jack was born in Gordon County, Ga. on August 5, 1926 son of the late Joseph Hollister and Dell Sutherland Hobgood and had been a lifelong resident. He was a well known local farmer and a Naval Aviator in the Korean War. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers; J.A. “Jim” Hobgood, Trammell Hobgood and Beebe Hobgood and a sister Betty Hobgood Doss. Survivors include his wife Glo Gay Hobgood of Calhoun, two sons and daughters-in-law; Keith and Chantelle Hobgood of Longmont, Colorado and Tucker and Mari Hobgood of Marietta, two daughters and sons-in-law; Holli and Tim Savage of Calhoun and Gay and Jim Hammond of Gainesville, Ga. eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday November 13th. from the chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Hudgins officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are grandsons and include; Connor and Jim Hammond, John and Jim Hobgood, Tim Savage and Patrick Savage III and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:30 until 6:00 P.M. on Monday November 12th. .
