Jack Randall “Randy” Abercrombie, age 77 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at The Oaks at Fairmount.


Randy was born on January 15, 1944 in Cobb County, son of the late Jack Bartow Abercrombie and Lora Vivian Matthews Abercrombie. He was a member of Calhoun First Baptist Church where he occasionally taught the Sycamore Sunday school class. He also served as a deacon for many years. Randy was a 1966 graduate of the University of Georgia School of Forestry where he earned his degree in Forest Management. Randy was employed by Bowater Paper Company prior to establishing his own company, JRA Construction. He was an avid outdoorsman, especially hiking, fishing, and skiing. He was a well-known craftsman and woodturner, creating bowls and furniture.

Randy is survived by: his wife, Linda Kastner Abercrombie of Calhoun, GA; two daughters, Kay Collins and her husband Jim of Marietta, GA and Dr. Pam Weigandt and her husband Cam of Kennesaw, GA; five grandchildren, Sarah Collins, Anna Collins, Katherine Weigandt, Max Weigandt, and Amelia Weigandt. He is also survived his brother, Dan Abercrombie and wife Nancy of Morrow, GA. He is survived by an extended family including nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family wishes to acknowledge the outstanding and personal care given by the staff at the Oaks at Fairmont Residential Community.

Services to Celebrate the Life of Jack “Randy” Abercrombie will be conducted Monday May 10th at 4 PM from the Calhoun First Baptist Church with Dr. John Barber officiating.

The family will receive friends on People’s Street @ Calhoun First Baptist Church from 2:30 until 4 PM just prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Helping Hand’s Committee @ Calhoun First Baptist Church.
