Mr. J. R. Buttrum age 65 of 219 Forrest Hill Road, Dalton, Ga. died suddenly Tuesday.
Mr. Buttrum was born in Gordon County on July 26, 1942 son of the late Ruth Hood Tucker and J.C. Buttrum who survives him. He was a truck driver with Covenant Truck lines and had an accident free record for 12 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army receiving numerous accommodations and awards. He was an avid member of the Chattanooga Area Model Railroad Club and a lover of animals and pets.
Survivors include his devoted companion of 23 years Jan Corbin of Dalton , His father and step-mother; J.C. and Nola Buttrum of Fairmount, a daughter; Joy Buttrum, a brother; Curt Buttrum of Cartersville, two grandsons and a number of aunts, uncles cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday April 11th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Frankie Carroll officiating. Bill Hannah will give the benediction.
The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 6:30 until 8:30 P.M. Today (Thursday).
