J. Albert “AL” Derosier, age 84 of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Gordon Hospital.
Albert was born on February 17, 1931 in St. Agatha, Maine to the late Denis Derosier and Irene Chasse Derosier. Albert was a member of the St. Clement’s Catholic Church and prior to his retirement worked for Fafnir Bearing then Wheelers Lumber Yard. He was known as Pepe' to his grandchildren and family, and he loved seeing his family grow. He was an outdoorsman who loved using his chainsaw and splitting firewood. As a husband, father and grandfather, he made each one feel special and think they were number one. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Triston Reynolds; three brothers, Alfred, Camille and George Derosier; and three sisters, Florence McLeod, Raymonde Ayotte and Germaine Caron.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mildred Derosier; four sons, James Derosier of Oakman, Joseph Derosier of Calhoun, Jerry Derosier of Bristol, CT and John “J.D.” Derosier of Calhoun; three daughters, JoAnn Trushell of Calhoun, Judith Zaczkowski of Berlin, CT and Joyce Greeson of Calhoun; three brothers, Joseph E. Derosier of Bangor, ME, Marc Derosier of Bangor, ME and Denis Derosier of East Harford, CT; three sisters, Patricia Raymond of Windsor Locks, CT, Laura Willey of Newport, ME and Linda Shea of Beverly Hills, FL; twenty three grandchildren; forty four great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, May 30th at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Brother Tom Allison officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant United Methodist Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving will be Michael Derosier, Jonathon Martin, Ricky Greeson, Chris Derosier, Colby Greeson and Billy Derosier. Honorary Pallbearers will be additional grandsons.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
