Wednesday, March 14, 2007 Mrs. Ivanor Mines Apperson was born on August 11, 1917 and died peacefully on March 13, 2007.She lived her childhood in Cartersville, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Emmett Russell Mines and Vera McClain Mines. She was the sister of the late Robert E. Mines of Cartersville and Mevelyn Rogers of Dalton. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Leonard Apperson and son Joseph Russell Apperson. Ivanor lived all her adult life in Calhoun and worked alongside her husband Joe in their businesses; Apperson Vending Company and The Quick Serve Restaurant. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Calhoun. She had missed her church and hometown very much in recent months while recuperating in Suwanee and Lawrenceville. She is survived by her daughter Linda Apperson Baynes and son-in-law, Myron Bartlett Baynes of Suwanee,Georgia. Grandchildren Susan Baynes Brooks and Laura Baynes Burchfield both of Suwanee, Brandon Bartlett Baynes of Hartwell, Georgia. Great-Grandchildren Kathleen and Cara Brooks and Emily and Megan Burchfield. Other survivors include sister-in-law Margaret Mines, niece Diane Mines and nephew Bob Mines of Cartersville, brother-in-law Wilson Rogers of Dalton, Nephews Bill Pinson of Chattanooga and Bill Rogers of Atlanta. Funeral services will be conducted Friday March 16th at 3pm from the First Baptist Church of Calhoun. With Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Graveside services will follow in Fain Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 at the church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Calhoun. P.O. Box 758, Calhoun, Georgia, 30703.
