Ivan Thomas Taylor

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ivan Thomas Taylor, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. He peacefully left this world on October 19, 2023, at Redmond Hospital in Rome, Georgia.

Born on January 8, 1941, Ivan led a life filled with purpose and love. He dedicated his career to the food industry, working as a talented salesman. His passion for his work shone through in every interaction he had with his colleagues and customers.

Known for his simple tastes and kind heart, Ivan found true joy in the presence of his family. He was a loving husband to Sally Kay Mellick and together they built a beautiful life filled with love and cherished memories. Ivan was also blessed with the gift of parenthood as he raised his children Richard Allen Taylor, Karen Taylor Dominguez, and Mark Taylor.

Ivan developed a deep appreciation for the beauty in Northwest Georgia. From its rolling hills to its majestic forests, he found solace in the wonders of the outdoors.

Ivan will be forever remembered as a person who approached life with kindness and empathy. He touched the hearts of many through his gentle demeanor and genuine concern for others. Whether it was lending a helping hand or providing words of encouragement, Ivan's presence brought comfort to those around him.

Ivan was predeceased by his wife Sally Kay Mellick; son, Richard Allen Taylor; and brother, Lonnie Newbern Taylor. He is survived by his loving siblings, Frances A. Taylor Williams of Florida; Carline T. Mellick of Georgia; Roland "David" Taylor of Florida; and Roland "Clifford" Taylor of Florida. 

Ivan also leaves behind a legacy of love through his several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who reside in Florida. His memory will continue to live on through each of them.

The loss of Ivan has left a void in the hearts of all those who knew him. The memories shared, the laughter enjoyed, and the lessons learned from him will forever be cherished. May we find solace in knowing that he has been reunited with his loved ones who have gone before him.
