Irene Ward

Irene P. Ward, age 90 of Resaca, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2012 in Gordon Hospital. Irene was born on January 14, 1922 in Murray County, GA. Daughter of the late William Virgil Parker and Jessie Brackett Parker. Irene was a member of Timms Chapel Church of God and attended Mt. Zion and Resaca Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by; her husband Henry Carlton Ward, one son James Ward, one brother Claude Parker and one sister Ruby Walraven. Survivors include; Two sons; Larry Ward and his wife Joy and Jerry Ward and his wife Luanne all of Calhoun. Two daughters; Mary W. Curry and her husband Beau of Hawkinsville and Glenda Goble and her husband Jimmy of Calhoun. One daughter-in-law, Judy Ward of Decatur. Three brothers; Johnny Parker and his wife Glenese of Rome, Gene Parker and his wife Debbie of Resaca, Kenneth Parker and his wife Paula of Calhoun. Five sisters; Ada Silver of Key West, FL, Thelma Schnitzpahn and her husband Chris, Ruth Fox, Sue Bone all of Calhoun and Avie Autry and her husband Troy of Rome. Five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00am on Thursday, May 31st from Fain Cemetery with the Rev. Harold Blackstock officiating.
