Irene Silvers Craig, age 92 of Oakman, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014 in Gordon Hospital.
Irene was born on August 18, 1921 in Gordon County to the late Virgil Silvers and Minnie Allen Silvers. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and has been a resident of Gordon County all her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, G.D. (Bo) Craig; three brothers, Dentist, Santford, and Raymond Silvers; and three sisters, Pauline, Bonnie Johnson, and Dorothy (Dot) Craig.
She is survived by one son, Jerry Craig and his wife Betty of Oakman; two daughters, Wanda Anderson and her husband Chris of Canton, and Kathy Long and her husband David of Oakman; three grandsons, Keith Craig of Canton, Kirk Craig of Tallapoosa, and Dustin Long of Oakman; one granddaughter, Lindsey Anderson Kaye and her husband Ed of Canton; four great-grandsons, Tyler, Cole, and Easton Long all of Oakman, and Beau Craig of Canton; and one sister, Hazel Collis of Powder Springs.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, March 29th at 2:00p.m. from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Charles Rogers and Reverend Freddy Craig officiating. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
