Ingeborg B. Martin, 76, of Calhoun, died on Sunday, July 06, 2014 at home.
Born in Bad Aibling, Germany, on November 2, 1937, she was the daughter of Joseph and Elisabeth (Eigner) Bichl. She married Worth B. Martin in Bad Aibling, West Germany on September 6, 1956.
After coming to the United States, Inge and her husband lived briefly in Smyrna, GA before moving to Gordon County in 1961. Inge, as she was usually called, had been the owner of Artistic Designs floral shop in Calhoun.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Worth, her parents and one sister Kathe Porep of Bad Aibling, Germany. Survivors include three children, Michael Worth Martin and his partner, Dan Cameron, of Atlanta, Georgia, Katharina Martin Weaver and her husband, Wayne Weaver of Calhoun and Carol Yvonne Martin of Atlanta, Georgia; one grandchild, Sarah Elizabeth Weaver of Calhoun, Georgia, a sister, Lisl Grosch of Willing, Germany, her niece Marianne Grosch of Munich, Germany, several nieces, nephews and their children in Bavaria. In addition, she is survived by beloved in-laws Yvonne Martin Dale and her husband Jim of Waleska, Georgia, James Felicien Martin of Atlanta, Georgia, Hillias Jackson (Butch) Martin and his wife Marilla of Demorest, Georgia, and Michael David Martin and his wife Michelle of Bad Kreuznach, Germany.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. with memorial service immediately following on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Rockbridge Community Church in the Gordon Hills Shopping Center at 100 Peters Street, Suite 80, Calhoun, GA 30701.
