Inez P. Bennett

Mrs. Inez P. Bennett, age 84, of Calhoun. Passed away Wednesday afternoon September 28th at her residence. Inez was born May 8, 1927 in Gordon County. Daughter of the late W.H. Pruitt and Julia Wall Pruitt. She was a member of the Calhoun First Baptist Church, the Ruth Sunday School Class and was a lifetime member of the Friends of Gordon Hospital. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Bennett in 2004 as well as four sisters and two brothers. Survivors include two sons, Roy Bennett and his wife Pam and Russell Bennett and his wife Sharon both of Calhoun. Two daughters, Brenda Lee Sturgeon of Calhoun and Judy Kelly and her husband Jack of Marietta. One sister, Jo Carver of Calhoun. Ten grandchildren, Justin Bennett, Shelly Evans, Heather Guthrie, Katie Persinger, Shane Duffey, Sean Duffey, Shannon Bennett, Josh Bennett, Laura Bennett, and Jessica Wilson. Twenty great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Friday September 30 at 11am from the Calhoun First Baptist Church. With Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and the Ruth Sunday School Class will serve as honorary escorts. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.
