Mr. Hoyal William “Bill” Knight, age 82 of Calhoun, died Monday September 14th. following three years of declining health. He was a loving husband and father who will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Knight was born in Dayton, Tennessee on December 13, 1923 son of the late Franklin Arnold and Cora Thornburg Knight. Mr. Knight was a self employed Dry Wall Contractor, was a member of the South Calhoun Baptist Church and was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his twin brother; Harold Knight and a sister Rowena McDowell.
Survivors include his wife Patsy Ann Knight to whom he was married for more than 49 years of Calhoun, three sons; Donald Knight and his wife Candi of Calhoun, Michael Knight and his wife Lori of Calhoun, and Hoyal William Knight Jr. of Chattanooga, Tn., Two daughters; Kathy Brock of Rome and Beverly Sutton of Dayton , Tennessee, two sisters; Alberta Pendergrass of Chattanooga, Tn. And JoAnn Green of Dayton , Tn. Eight grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday September 20th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Hall and Rev. Clifford Free officiating. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Gardens. Clifford Free will have charge of the music. Pallbearers serving include, Clark Rogers, Timmy Walraven, Mark Head, Chris Wable, and grandsons Ryan and Cory Brock. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class. These men are ask to meet at the funeral home at 10:30am Wednesday morning.
The Family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 5:30 until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday September 19th.
