Mr. Howard R. Frost, age 77 of Calhoun died Thursday, May 14, 2009 following an unexpected illness.
Howard was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, July 24, 1931, son of the late Edwin N. Frost and Kathryn Huff Frost. He was an alumnus of Fenn College of Cleveland, Ohio and was retired in 1997 from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company as a chemical engineer. He was a former Georgia High School Football official and a softball umpire, and was a toy train collector. He was a member of the Calhoun Rotary Club and had served as President and Treasurer. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Calhoun and had served as Treasurer and a member of the Session. Also, he was an office holder of the Cherokee Presbytery.
Howard is survived by his wife, Eleanor Frost of Calhoun; one son, John Frost and his wife, Margie of Powder Springs; two daughters, Carol Frost of Rocky Face, Karen Edge and her husband Zane of Alpharetta; two grandchildren, Sabrina and Ryan Frost of Powder Springs; One sister, Marilyn Hogan of Okemos, Michigan; nieces and nephews.
Graveside committal services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, May 18 at Chandler Cemetery with the Reverend Dick Neely officiating. A memorial service will follow at the First Presbyterian Church at 3:00 PM. The Frost family will receive friends from 3:00 until 6:00 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.
