Herman Norris

Herman Norris, age 89 of Calhoun. Died Friday February 11th at home surrounded by his family. Herman was born September 14, 1921 in Canton, Georgia. Son of the late Walter and Alice Stanley Norris. He was a member of the Meadowdale Baptist Church and prior to his retirement was a truck driver for GM as well as Georgia Power. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Julia Mae Norris in October 1969. Survivors include his wife, Hazel R. Norris of Calhoun. Three sons; David Dutton and his wife Sonja of Calhoun, Walter Brett Norris and his wife Linda of Ill, and Timothy Robert Norris and his wife Laurie of Calhoun. Five daughters; Wanda Urda and her husband Philip of Sugar Valley, Vicki Broughman and her husband Terry of Ranger, Deborah Ann Busby and her husband Robert of Calhoun, Kathleen Joann Hunton of Calhoun, and Johnette Ray and her husband Bud of Copper Hill, Tn.. Three sisters; Pearl N. King, Dixie Burton, and Molly Harmon all of Calhoun. Twenty grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren also survive. Memorial services to celebrate the life of Herman Norris will be conducted Monday February 14th at 3pm in Meadowdale Baptist Church. With Rev. Stephen Pearson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2pm until the funeral hour.
