Herbert L. Carden

Herbert Lee Carden, age 81, of Powder Springs and formerly of Gordon County. Departed this life Monday July 25th in Powder Springs. Herbert was born January 23, 1930 in Gordon County. Son of the late Annis and Eula Carden. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lithia Springs and was retire from C.R. Industries in 1996. Herbert was a founding member of the Cherokee Hunting Club and was a avid deer hunter. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Carden. He is survived by his children, Keith Carden of Powder Springs, Kathie Y. Wayman of Powder Springs, Wade Carden Dallas, and Wayne and Janice Carden of Fairmount. Grandchildren, Jessica Lee Carden and Jason Paul Wayman. His sisters, Evelyn Garren, Jean and Helton Hawkins, and June Bearden all of Calhoun. As well as a brother, Glenn and Ann Carden of Calhoun. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday July 28th at 1pm from the chapel of Davis-Struempf Funeral Home. With Dr. Marion Beaver officiating. Burial will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Park in Atlanta. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at the Davis-Struemf Funeral Home @ 1975 East/ West Connector, Austell from 4 until 8pm.
