Henrietta Marshall Palmer, age 99 of Calhoun, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at her residence.
Henrietta was born on February 18, 1916 in Vonore, TN to the late Louis and Othela Marshall. She was an active member of the Calhoun First United Methodist Church and Suzanna Wesley Sunday School Class. After graduating as a Registered Nurse in Kentucky, she worked as an OR nurse at the Johnson-Hall Hospital. She was very active and helped organize the Cherokee Promenators. She also kept books and worked with her husband, Farrell at Palmer Drug for more than 45 years. Both she and her husband were both very active in the community.
She is survived by her daughter, Pat Stengel of Calhoun; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Darlene Palmer of Calhoun; grandchildren, Dr. Tommy and Cindy Palmer, Dr. Michelle and Tom Griffith, Dr. Christi Palmer Brown, Kevin and Jennifer Palmer all of Calhoun, Brian and Ani Stengel of Adairsville and Brandon and Kimberly Stengel of San Diego, CA; great-grandchildren, JT Palmer, Taylor Palmer, Molly Palmer, Adam Griffith, Savannah Palmer, Easton Palmer, Jayce Stengel, Kylie Stengel and Sadie Stengel.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, September 4th at 11:00 AM from the Calhoun First United Methodist Church with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving will be Tommy Palmer, Kevin Palmer, Brian Stengel, Brandon Stengel, Tom Griffith, JT Palmer and Kurt Prather.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home and also on Friday an hour prior to the funeral at Calhoun First United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Calhoun First United Methodist Church at 205 East Line Street, Calhoun, GA 30701.
