Helen E. Sheets

Mrs. Helen E. Sheets, age 91, of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday morning August 21st, at the home of her daughter. Helen was born July 13, 1928 in Gordon County, daughter of the late B.J. Haley and Fannie Floyd Haley. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hoyt Ingle, her second husband, Grover Sheets, one son, Burl Ingle, son-in-law, Donald King, brothers, Paul Haley and Doyal Haley and sisters, Mabel Finch, Gracie Holland, Kate Goodwin, Frances Roberts and Phoebe Whitfield. Helen is survived by three daughters, Sharon King, Charlotte (Lamar) Mealor and Jennifer (Greg) Thomason. Six grandchildren, Brian (Chastity Black) King, Christy (Josh) Freeman, Darryll (Melissa) Mealor, Erica Mealor, Ashley Thomason, and Jill Thomason Lindsey. Fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, along with special friends, Michael and Tina Williams. Funeral service will be conducted Friday August 23rd at 1pm from the Heritage Baptist Church with Rev. Shane Parrott and Rev. Stacey Hensley officiating. Burial will follow at Gordon Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and include, Brian King, Darryll Mealor, Dylan Mealor, Caleb Freeman, Josh Corn, and Connor Bailey. The Ruth Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Escorts. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 4 until 7pm at the funeral home and on Friday from 12 noon until the funeral hour at the church.
