Helen Richards

Ms. Helen Richards 63 of 1809 Everett Springs Rd., Calhoun, died Monday May 17th. at her residence following a brief illness. Helen was born in Pickens County on Sept. 16, 1946 daughter of the late Willie and Peggy Massingill Richards. She was an L.P.N.since 1967 and was employed by Calhoun Health Care. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sons; Richard Brooke Harris and Pete Long. and a brother; Mark Massingill. Survivors include one son Sonny Long of Calhoun, the father of her children, David Long of Whitfield County, a sister; Paula Richards and a half sister; Pam Massingill both of Calhoun a step brother; Alvin Massingill of Calhoun, two grandchildren; Dillon Jerrel Long and Chad Lee Long and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 Thursday May 20th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Lamar Bearden officiating. Interment will be in the Hill City Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Alvin Massingill, Mitchell Vance, David A. Long, Kimsey Long, Benny Coulter and Dale Williams and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:45 Thursday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M.
