Helen Mincey, age 80 of Calhoun, passed away Monday morning, August 19, 2013 at her residence.
Helen was born on October 7, 1932 in Gordon County, daughter of the late Columbus Harlan Greeson and Emma Mullins Greeson. She was a lifelong member of the Blackwood Spring Baptist Church and was an accountant for more than 35 years. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Earl Mincey, three brothers; Hubert, Roy and Milton Greeson, and one sister, Lula Mae Bearden.
Survivors include one son, Micky Mincey and his wife Tammy, one daughter, Kaye Owens and her husband Edward, two sisters, Evelyn Stephens and her husband Lamar and Mildred Mincey, one brother, James Greeson all of Calhoun. Numerous Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday August 21st at 3pm from the Blackwood Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Hunt officiating. Haley Owenby will have charge of the music and burial will follow in Fain Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include; Mickey Mincey, Todd Mincey, David Craig, Lynn Greeson, Brent Mashburn, and Adam Greeson. Steve Mincey will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 8pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
