Helen Carter

Helen Carter, age 91 of Calhoun, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Gordon Hospital. Helen was born on August 17, 1924 in Whitfield County, to the late Wiley Carter and Beatrice Parks Carter. Prior to retirement she worked for Echota Mills, Mount Vernon Mills, and GA Textile. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Carter. Survivors include her two sisters, Peggy Carter, and Iva Nell Raines; sister-in-law, Sherry Carter; nephew, Brent Carter and his wife Pam and their two children Lilly and William all of Calhoun; cousin, Gladys Strickland and her husband Charlie of Dallas, GA. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, March 24th at 1 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Dwaine Shadix officiating. Lonnie Walker will have charge of music. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12 PM until the funeral hour at 1 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
