Harvey Alexander King, age 87, of Calhoun. Died Thursday evening April 7th in Gordon Health Care. Harvey was born March 10, 1924 in Eaton, Georgia. Son of the late Harvey Adoniram King and Edythe Mae Cunningham King. He was a active member of Belmont Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard during WWII. Harvey was retired from Lockheed after thirty-five years but was best known around Calhoun as the owner and operator along with his wife of the Kings Skating Palace for 20 years. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Lou King. Survivors include his wife, Marian Denman Goza King of Calhoun. His children; Peggy King Denler of Bethel, MN., Pat Goza of New Zealand, Janet Ryle of Macon, and Scott Goza of Marietta. Three sisters; Nan King Cobb, Nell King Anderson both of Kennesaw and Robbie King Patty of Greenboro, N.C.. Six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday April 11th at 11am from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. Jeff Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Alpharetta at 3pm. Honorary Escorts will be member of the Scrap Iron Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2 until 5pm at the funeral home.
