Gwendolyn Guess Penley

Gwendolyn Guess Penley, age 93 of Ranger, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at her residence. Gwendolyn was born on April 9, 1923 in Gordon County to the late Mike Dewey Guess and Alice Lee Owens Guess. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Willard Penley. She attended Fairview Church of God. Gwendolyn is survived by her son, David Penley and his wife Rita; brother, Max D. Guess and his wife, Diane; two sisters, Christine Guess Stone and Phoebe Guess Sullivan and her husband, Mack; four grandchildren, Alisha Penley Johnson and her husband Brent, Jason Wade Penley and his wife Susan, Corey Allan Penley and Chad Howard and his wife Shelby; eleven great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, March 5th at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery in Oakman. Pallbearers serving will be Chad Howard, Jason Penley, Corey Penley, Noah Johnson, Wyatt Penley, Isaac Penley, Cole Penley and Brent Johnson.
