Saturday, June 13, 2009 Gregory Lane Holden, age 47 of Calhoun died at 9:15 PM, Friday, June 12 in Emory University Hospital. Gregory was born in Calhoun October 23, 1961, son of T.J. Holden and the late Herline Wyatt Holden. He had lived most of his life in Calhoun and was an aircraft inspector for Air Tran Airways. He had served eight years active duty in the US Air Force and two additional years in the Georgia Air National Guard. He was an alumnus of Calhoun High School and had played on its baseball team. He was an active participant in youth league baseball coaching including his son Christian’s participation. He was a member of the Sunnyside Baptist Church of Rome. Gregory is survived by his, father, T.J. Holden of Olive Branch, Mississippi; wife, Susan Holden; son Christian Holden, daughters, Amber Walker and Ashley Fuller all of Calhoun; two brothers, Tommy Holden of Calhoun and Jeff Holden of Cartersville; six grandchildren, Jackson, Trent, Taylin, Tymber, Mason, Makenlee, and Mia. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, June 15 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverends Chyanne Russell and Douglas Moore officiating. Donald Stoner will have charge of music and burial will be in Fain Cemetery. The Holden family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 PM, Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Chase Bradley, Zach Bradley, Dayton Luther, Christian Holden, Dustin Howard, Kevin Fuller, Johnny Walker, Trent Walker, and Mason Fuller.
