Tuesday, June 19, 2007 Mr. Grady C. Stanley, age 74 of the Resaca Community died at Monday, June 18 at Hamilton Medical Center Following several months of illness. Grady was born , Dec. 23, 1932 in Whitfield County, son of the late Lloyd and Laura Connelley Whitener Stanley. Also, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters, Howard and James Stanley,Clyde Whitener, Lloyd “Buck” and Clint Whitener and Daisy Haley. He was a member of the Church of Christ, a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Army and along with his wife Dixie owned and operated Stanley Interprises.` Grady is survived by his wife of 50 years Dixie Chitwood Stanley of Resaca; two sisters: Maudain Brown of Resaca and Agnes Fossett of Dalton. Nieces and nephews. Funeral services willl be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 20, at the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Ministers Frank Mills and Jule Medders officiating. Interment will be in the Fain Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Thomas Funeral Home. Nephews Ken Griffith, Joe Don Griffith, Joel Bowman, Hank Chitwood, Barnett (Rick) Chitwood Jr. and Scott Chitwood will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be; Dr. Robert Simmons, Dr. Murray Lumpkin, Donnie Thomas, Ray Griffith, Jerry Griffith Timmy Stanley, Shane Stanley, Mark Fossett, Shannon Fossett, Jeff Stanley, Rodney Stanley, Gary Haley, Jimmy Brown, Johnny Brown, Ricky Whitener, Larry Whitener, Wayne Whitener, Jerry Smith, Freddie Pate, Scott Clemons, Calvin Caldwell and Hoyt Whitener and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 2:30 P.M.
