Gracelle Tanner Yancey, age 86 of Ranger, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2014 at her residence.
Gracelle was born on June 14, 1928 in Bartow County to the late Oscar M. Tanner and Lela Wright Tanner. She was raised in the Flexitile Community and was formerly employed by GA Tufters. She was a member of the Fairmount First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Yancey; and five siblings, Fain Tanner, Danny Tanner, Ethel Evans, Elise Jones, and Weldon Tanner.
She is survived by her son, Steve Yancey and his wife Sara of Ranger; two brothers, Max Tanner and his wife Ann of Bartow County, and J.W. Tanner and his wife Gen of Riverdale, GA; two grandchildren, Stephanie and her husband Tad Guess of Ranger, and Steven Yancey and his wife Julie of Calhoun; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley Bennett of Ranger, and Morgan Bennett of Adairsville.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, November 29th at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Langston officiating. Joy Dodd will have charge of music. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery with Rev. Michael Yancey officiating.
Pallbearers serving will be Steven Yancey, Alvin Tanner, Walter Tanner, Larry Jones, Billy Chandler, and Charles Evans.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5 – 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
