Mrs. Grace Worley Couch, age 86, of Calhoun. Died Wednesday May 6th in Gordon Health Care. Following several months of declining health.
Grace was born in Gordon County August 18, 1926. Daughter of the late Earl Felix and Mamie Clark Worley. She had worked at Dixie Belle Mills prior to her retirement and was of the Methodist faith. Grace loved to help people and volunteered at Gordon Hospital for many years. Many people may remember her volunteering to feed the hunger during the holidays. She also helped her county as a poll worker. Besides her parents her brother, Felix Worley and a sister, Zeta Worley Crews, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband; Gene “Sonny” Couch of Calhoun. One brother; Fred Walter Worley and his wife Deloris of Calhoun. Two sisters; Geraldine Epps of Buford and Vera Gilmore of Calhoun. Beloved by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday May 8th at 11am from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. Jimmy Timms officiating. Entombment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Maurice Jones, Stephen Worley, Stuart Worley, Mike Crews and Joe Epps.Honorary pallbearers include, Tim Allen, Grant Walraven, Jimmy Prater, Freddy Prater, Scott Couch, and Edsel "Red" Robbins.
The family will receive friends from 3 until 7pm Thursday evening.
