Glenda Climer Jones

Mrs. Glenda Climer Jones passed away on October 2, 2021, at a local hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Gordon County on May 13, 1927, the daughter of the late Conrad B. and Vera Miller Climer.
Mrs. Jones is preceded in death by her loving husband, Mr. Alton Horton Jones; three sisters, Doris Climer Spence, Gladys Climer Burton, and Eunice Climer Wright; and one brother, Auborn Climer.
She is survived by a daughter, Laura Jones of Calhoun and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Jones was employed at Belk Rhodes Department Store in Rome, Georgia, until she retired. After her retirement, she enjoyed volunteering as a Pink Lady at Gordon Hospital in Calhoun.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, October 6 from 11am-1pm at First Baptist Church ptreceeding the funeral service.
Funeral services for Glenda Climer Jones will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of Calhoun on Wednesday, October 6, at 1pm. Dr. Bert Vaughn will officiate. Interment will follow at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens in Rome, Georgia with Rev. Randy Lambert and Rev. Macon Jones officiating.
Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers and great nephews will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Faith Forward Program of First Baptist Church, Calhoun, Georgia.
