Glenda Kay Marable Allen

Glenda Kay Marable Allen, age 86 of Resaca, GA, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Royal Oaks of Dalton.

 Glenda was born on November 17, 1937, in Monroe, GA, the daughter of the late William Marable and Inez Mobley Marable. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Roger Kent Allen; granddaughter, Natalie Bates; and lifelong friend Joe Mackey. Before her retirement, she worked as the Personal Director for J.C. Penney. Glenda enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was a history buff and Civil War historian. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at Sugar Valley Baptist Church. Glenda also organized a card outreach ministry, as well as marriage counseling along with her husband Kent. 

 Glenda is survived by two daughters, Cathy Pugh and her husband Chuck, and April Allen; grandchildren, Rachel Wilson, Robin Joiner and her husband Ryan, Julia Pugh, and Jake Rackley; great-grandchildren, Aiden Pierce, Easton Wilson, Nate Joiner, Addie Bates, and Annie Bates; and several nieces and nephews. 

 Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, July 13th at 1 pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Mitch Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Corinth Christian Church in Loganville, on Sunday, July 14th at 2 pm with Ryan Joiner officiating.

 The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 am until the funeral hour.
