Gladys Marie Wright Hightower

Gladys Marie Wright Hightower, age 74 of the Scottsville Community, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2013 in Erlanger Medical Center, in Chattanooga, after several weeks of declining health. Gladys was born on October, 22, 1938 in Gordon County to the late Barney and Minnie Sue Robbins Wright. She was of the Christian faith and whole heartily served her savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of the Church of the First Born, written in heaven. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Hollis Hightower and three brothers, Jimmy Wright, Daniel Ray Wright and Charles Lee Wright. Survivors include her daughter Tracee Marie Hightower Tran and her husband Todd Tran, and grandson Christian Aaron Manzano of Flowery Branch, GA. Two sisters, Aline Dyer, of Plainville and Mary Ann Brooks of Fairmount. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00PM, Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Danny Hightower officiating. Paula Dodd, Hazel Jackson, Mary Ruth Burchette and Oramae Fain will have charge of music and burial will be in Franklin Cemetery. Pallbearers will be chosen from Gladys' family. Pallbearers serving include: Mark Wright, Matt Wright, Mitch Wright, Randy Young, Steve Wright and Tim Hightower The family will receive friends from 11:00am until 2:00pm at the funeral home preceding the service. Thomas Funeral Home has charge of arrangements for the services of Gladys Marie Wright Hightower.
