MRS. GLADYS CURTIS KEYS, AGE 92, OF CALHOUN. DIED SUNDAY AFTERNOON NOVEMBER 19TH.
GLADYS WAS BORN IN GORDON COUNTY ON DECEMBER 23, 1913. DAUGHTER OF THE LATE WILLIAM FOREST AND BESSIE RUTH WALDROP CURTIS. SHE HAD WORKED AT THE BELL BOMBER PLANT AS WELL AS CABIN CRAFT AND FOR MANY YEARS SHE AND HER HUSBAND OWNED AND OPERATED KEYS USED CARS IN DALTON. SHE WAS A MEMBER OF THE BLACKWOOD SPRINGS BAPTIST CHURCH AND WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER HUSBAND, JOHN RAYMOND KEYS, HER STEP-MOTHER, CARRIE HOLBROOK CURTIS AND A SISTER, JENNIE MAE CURTIS PRESTON.
SURVIVORS INCLUDE HER BROTHERS, TOM CURTIS OF CALHOUN AND WHITMAN CURTIS OF NASHVILLE. SISTER-IN-LAW, LOTTIE KILGORE BAKER OF CALHOUN. NIECES, NEPHEWS, OTHER RELATIVES, DEVOTED CARETAKERS, AND FRIENDS ALSO SURVIVE.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE CONDUCTED TUESDAY NOVEMBER 21ST AT 2PM AT BLACKWOOD SPRINGS BAPTIST CHURCH. WITH REV. CLIFFORD FREE OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL FOLLOW IN THE CHURCH CEMETERY. RONNIE HAMMONTREE, FAYE PRATER, LINDA MASHBURN, AND JANE ELLEN FITE WILL HAVE CHARGE OF THE MUSIC.
PALLBEARERS SERVING INCLUDE BOBBY RIVERS, RANDY DUNCAN, CURT DUNCAN, TOMMY , CALE, BOONE, AND SAM CURTIS.
THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS FROM 4 UNTIL 8PM MONDAY EVENING AND ON TUESDAY UNTIL 12:30PM AT WHICH TIME MRS. KEYS WILL BE TAKEN TO THE CHURCH TO LIE IN STATE FROM 1PM UNTIL THE FUNERAL HOUR.
