Gladys B. Dillard

Mrs. Gladys Barton Dillard, age 91, of 790 Old River Rd. Rome, Ga. Formerly of Calhoun, died Saturday July 15th. In the Fifth Ave Nursing Home in Rome following several months of declining health. Gladys was born in Gordon County on July 13th. 1915 daughter of the late Henry C. and Lilla DeFoor Barton and had spent most of her life here. She was a member of the Calhoun First Baptist Church, the Sequoyah Garden club and had taught Sunday School at First Baptist for a number of years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert C. Dillard and a son Bobby Dillard. Survivors include one daughter Carol Peek of Rome and two Grandchildren; Mike Dillard of Seattle, Washington and Steve Peek of Columbus, Ga. Graveside and interment services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday July 18th. From the Fain Cemetery with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home, but the family will receive visitors after the services on Tuesday.
