George Vance Pass, age 85 of Calhoun, passed away Thursday morning March 8th at his residence.
George was born August 2, 1926 in Gordon County, a son of the late Foster “Bun” Pass and Mary Linner Harris Pass. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army and was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. Besides his parents George was preceded in death by his siblings Boyce, Jewel, Aaron, Roland, Farrell, Richard and his grandson, Jordan Russell Pass. George was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include; his wife Betty F. Pass of Calhoun; two sons, Russell Pass and his wife Jennifer; David Pass and his fiancée Sherry Calhoun; two daughters; Sharon Redfearn of Jacksonville, Florida; and Katrina Deen and her husband Brad of Clayton, North Carolina; grandchildren; Eric Pass of Calhoun, Lori Piltz of Jacksonville, Florida, Meagan Pass of Calhoun, Thomas Pass of Calhoun, and Allison Deen of Clayton, North Carolina; great-grandchildren; Tyron and Bryan Pass.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00p.m., Saturday, March 10th at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church with Dr. Brian Clark, Rev. Scott Pickering and Rev. Ann Mann officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Phil French, Mitchell Owens, Brian Ruddell, Joe Piltz, Dale, Larry, Mickey, and Ronny Pass. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Sutton, Edd Womack, Dr. James Redfearn, Robert Davis, James England, Joe Voyles, Eric Pass, and Gary Darnell. They are asked to meet at the church at 2:45 PM Saturday.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00p.m., Friday, March 9th at the funeral home.
