George W. “Dub” Moorehead, age 82 of Plainville, Died January 28th. at his residence.
He was born October 3, 1926 in Red Wine Cove, Ga. He was the son of the Late Andy and Emma Roberson Moorehead. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy and Earnest Moorehead and Johnny Evett He had been a resident of Gordon County for the past 26 years, was retired from Carriage Carpet and attended the Church of God of the Prophecy and served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife Katherine Edwards Moorehead of Plainville, two daughters; Glenda Rice McMichens and Brends Rice Morris both of Plainville, four sons; Lamar, Jimmy, Randell and Todd Rice all of Plainville, two brothers; Donnie and B. F. Evett of South Caroline two sisters; Juanita and Naomi Evitt also of S.C. Five Grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday January 31st. from the Plainville Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Jerry Gaddis officiating. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery with Rev. Leonard Crawford conducting the graveside services.
Pallbearers serving include Frank Moorehead, Ronnie Langley, Michael Gravitt, Tony York, Mark and Mathew Rice, Jeff Smith, Jerome Miller, Joes Edwards and Bennie Moorehead and they are asked to meet at the Church at 9:45 A.M. Saturday at which time the body will be palced in the Church to lie instate until the funeral hour. Charles York, Freeman Langley Bill Redden, Don Edwards, Spencer Padgett, Todd Rice, Jimmy Rice, Randall Rice and Lamar Rice will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Ronnie Langley, Lavern Gravitt and Joan Padgett will have charge of the music
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Friday evening.
