Geneva Gravitt Worley

Geneva Gravitt Worley, age 95 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021 at Cartersville Center for Nursing and Healing in Cartersville, GA.

Geneva was born on September 20, 1925 in Gordon County, GA, daughter of the late Robert Lee Gravitt and Ella Mae Hall Gravitt. In addition to her parents, Geneva was also preceded in death by: the father of her children, W.V. Worley, JR; son, Michael Worley; son-in-law, Ken Squires; brother, Bobby Lee Gravitt; and sister, Ova Lee Gravitt French. Geneva was a graduate of Sonoraville High School Class of 1945 and was a member of Blackwood Springs Baptist Church. Prior to her retirement, Geneva worked as a hairdresser and a landlord for several retail properties. She was a lifetime resident of Gordon County, GA.

Geneva is survived by: her daughter, Carolyn Squires; daughter-in-law, Claudia Worley; brother, Oscar Gravitt; five grandchildren, Lorenda Squires Ballew and her husband Ray, Teresa Squires Phifer and her husband Scott, Sommer Worley Bennett and her husband Brandon, Sayward Worley Fite and her husband Adam, and Samantha Worley Spinks and her husband Chris; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 11 AM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Lucas Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery.

Pallbearers serving include: Ray Ballew, Scott Phifer, Brandon Bennett, Adam Fite, Chris Spinks, Josh Ballew, David Phifer, Corey Cole, and Trey Burgess.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 9 AM until the funeral hour at 11 AM at Thomas Funeral Home.
