Geneva Ard McLeod

Geneva Ard McLeod, age 82 of Calhoun died at 6:15 PM Saturday, January 25 at her residence. Geneva was born, December 26, 1931 in Seminole County, daughter of the late Walter Ard and Ruby Aligood Ard; also, she was preceded in death by four brothers. She was a graduate of Seminole County High School and later attended the University of Georgia. She had lived in Calhoun since 1969; was formerly employed by the City of Calhoun School System; and was a member of the Belmont Baptist Church. Geneva is survived by her husband, David L. McLeod of Calhoun; three sons, Kenneth Ard McLeod and his wife Fay of Armuchee; Wayne Fontaine McLeod and his wife Ruth of Brunswick; Neal Aligood McLeod and his wife Holly of Gulf Breeze, Florida; one daughter, Carol Wood McLeod of Jacksonville, Florida; one brother, Billy C. Ard and his wife Phyllis of Tucker; one sister, Betty Ard Smith of Dalton; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 31st at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. John Bledsoe officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery with Dr. John Allen in charge of graveside rites. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of your choice in addition to flowers.
