Gene D. Peek, age 90 of Adairsville, GA, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at his residence.

 

Gene was born on March 3, 1933 in Felton, GA, son of the late Alvie Peek and Edna Moren Hill Peek. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Leatherwood. Prior to retirement, Gene was employed by Chattanooga Local Union 53 where he worked as a welder. He enjoyed fishing, watching Gun Smoke, dancing, singing, and playing guitar.

 

Gene is survived by: his son, Joey Peek and his wife Holly; two daughters, Rita O’Neal and her husband Tim, and Teresa Owens and her husband David; the mother of his children, Betty Davis; one sister, Carolyn Grimes; nine grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

 

The family would like to give special thanks to Assured Hospice, Floyd Home Health, Chulio Hills Health & Rehabilitation, and Tapestry Hospice.

 

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 3 PM until 5 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

 

Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at 5 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Wes Privett officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers serving include: Brian Nadu, Bruce Nadu, Kobe Nadu, Mark O’Neal, Chandler Burns, Nic Santos, and Josh Satterfield.

 

In addition to flowers donations in memory of Gene may be made to your preferred charity.
