Gary Wayne Stanley, Sr.

Gary Wayne Stanley, Sr., age 76 of Calhoun, passed away on Saturday June 3^rd at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Gary was born on November 14, 1946, in West Virginia to the late Isaac Frank Stanley, and Vada Gay Lowers Stanley.  Prior to his move to Calhoun, he served in the West Virginia and Florida National Guard. Gary was a self-employed truck driver most of his career. He was an avid Braves fan, loved fishing, and traveling with Mom, and Molly, he was an avid watch and gun collector. Gary was a devoted member at Maranatha Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce Mitchell; two siblings, James Lawrence Stanley, and Gerald Frank Stanley.

He is survived by his children, Kelly Smith and her husband Raymond of Chatsworth, Jennifer Renee Clayton and her husband Marion, Gary Wayne Stanley, Jr., and his wife Dani; brother, Donald Paul Stanley; seven grandchildren, Cadence Grace Marie Stanley, Chelsea Grace, Angelea Renee Brewer, Kaleigh Marie Ford, Amanda Nicole Brunner, James Ira Brunner, and Alexander Conner Stanley; three great-grandchildren, Paisley Jade Brewer, Ryder Lamar Ford, and Elijah Jett Brewer.

Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 7^th at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Tommy Crider officiating. Burial will follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery with Raymond Smith, Jr., Ryan Redd, Josh Brewer, Marc Clerc, David Clerc, and Gary Stanley, Jr. serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers serving are Eddie Green, and David Denney.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 6^th from 5PM until 8PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
