Gary William “GW” Perry, age 70, of Calhoun, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 after weeks of declining health at Gordon Hospital.
Gary was born on January 15, 1947 to Harold Perry and the late Ollie Goble of Fairmount. In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Childers. He was a veteran of Vietnam with the United States Army. Gary was employed as a truck driver for many years and then became a dispatcher. He was an avid motorcycle rider and loved his grandchildren and family.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Deborah McDaniel Perry of Calhoun; son, Brian Perry and his wife Teresa of Ludville; daughters, Lisa Chitwood and her companion Bill Gray, Leslie Sexton and her husband Daryl of Resaca and Nicole Perry of Calhoun; two special cousins, Barbara and Jan; a sister, Sheila Kowalecki of Fairmount; six grandchildren, Brittany Anderson, Zach Chitwood, Lindsey Perry, Kaitlin Guess, Ethan Perry and Cody Perry; three great-grandchildren, Koen, Emma J and Kaycen.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, May 14, 2017 from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with Reverend Walter Hare and Dr. Stephen Pearson officiating. Ron and Faye Bentley will have charge of music. Burial will follow at RYO Cemetery in Fairmount. Ethan Perry, Cody Perry, Zach Chitwood, David Anderson, Daryl Sexton and Bill Gray will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
