Garland C. Foster

October 25, 2010 Garland C. Foster, age 80 of Fairmount died at 9:15 AM, Sunday, October 24 in Cartersville Medical Center. Garland was born in Gordon County, July 14, 1930, son of the late Charlie Foster and Ina Dean Foster. Also, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Findley Foster July 28, 2008, an infant son, David Garland Foster, and a sister, June Foster Temples. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of the Morningstar Masonic Lodge F. and A.M. of Fairmount and had served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean era. Garland is survived by two sons Tony Foster and his wife, Monica of Kingwood, Texas, Tim Foster and his wife, Vickey of Fairmount; three sisters, Willene Teague of Fairmount, Scottie Knight and her husband Jimmy, Peggy Craig and her husband Charles all of Calhoun; three grandchildren, Lindsey, Ches and Clara Foster; a sister in law, Jo Ann White of Ranger; 6 nieces, 7 nephews, two brothers in law and many other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 26 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Eddie Brannon officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove-Ryo Cemetery, and the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 PM, Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Edwin, Brad, and Jeff Teague, Lou and Bryant White, Marc Temples, and Todd Knight. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:45 PM Tuesday.
