Tuesday, May 12, 2009 Mrs. Cynthia Gail Ledford, age 57, of Calhoun. Died Tuesday morning at her residence following several months of declining health. Gail was born in Floyd County, March 11, 1952. Daughter of Frankie Rooney Holsomback and the late Floyd Talmadge Holsomback. She was a member of the Calhoun Community Church and a graduate of West Georgia College. Gail loved teaching and prior to her illness had taught at Red Bud Elementary School for 20 years and had been director of the After School Care Program for the last 10. Besides her father she was preceded in death by her husband; Coy Eugene Ledford to whom she was married in November 1973. Her grandparents; Doll and Bell Rooney and Gilbert and Julia Holsomback also precede her. Survivors include her sons; Justin Ledford and his wife Heidi of Dalton and Brandon Ledford of Carrollton. Four brothers; Tony Holsomback and his wife Billie, Steve Holsomback and his Brenda, and Terry Holsomback all of Calhoun, and Ronnie Holsomback and his wife Lynn of Trenton. Two grandchildren; Coy Ledford and River Lang along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday May 14th at 11am from the Calhoun Community Church. With Rev. Jerry Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery.Pallbearers severing include; Anthony Silvers, Ryan Swably, Nickolaus Holsomback, Adam Holsomback, Chase Leatherwood, Norman Carpenter, Joel Ostuw, and Ronnie Reeves. These men are ask to meet at the funeral home at 10am Thursday. Honorary Escorts will be Red Bud Elementary School Teacher’s they are ask to meet at the church at 10:30am.
