Fred C. Williams

Rev. Fred C. Williams, age 82 of Calhoun, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015 at his residence. Fred was born on September 24, 1932 in Fannin County, GA to the late James Grant Williams and Olla Elizabeth Patterson Williams. Fred was a member of the Plainview Baptist Church and prior to retirement worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean Williams; brother, Kenneth Williams; sister, Mildred Farmer; and great-granddaughter, Heidi Williams. He is survived by two sons, Donald Williams and his wife Lisa of Resaca and James Williams and his wife Janet of Calhoun; two daughters, Linda Cantrell and her husband Kirk of Calhoun and Deborah Key and Rodney of Cherry Log, GA; three sisters, Ruby Manders of Cartersville, GA, Lois Grice and her husband Frank of Blue Ridge, GA, and Helen Cruise and her husband Wayne Allen of Morganton, GA; grandchildren, Amanda Williams, Nakisha Ramey and her husband Randy, Jeremy and his wife Brittany Williams, Sarah Key and Zachary Talley, Daniel Cantrell, Kristy and her husband Nathan Jones, Michael Key, Randy Williams and Cory Williams and his wife Jessica; nine great-grandchildren also survives. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday February 27th at 2pm from the Plainview Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; Jeremy Williams, Daniel Cantrell, Michael Key, Randy Williams, Zachary Talley and Cory Williams. The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 5 until 8pm and on Friday morning until 12:15 at which time Rev. Williams will be taken to the church to lie in state from 1pm until the funeral hour.
