Friday, November 07, 2008 Mr. Fred Junior Cronon, age 79, of 2060 Red Bud Road, Calhoun, passed away at his home Friday morning November 7th surrounded by his family. Mr. Cronon was born in Gordon County March 30, 1929. Son of the late Albert and Sindy Coggins Cronon. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Cronon was a member of the V.F.W. as well as the Renis Barrett American Legion. He was a member of New Town Baptist Church where he was lovingly known as the bubble gum man. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Clyde, Eugene, Homer and Lester Cronon and one sister, Mary Cronon. Survivors include his wife Ida Hall Cronon to whom he was married on March 27, 1954. Two sons; Fred Cronon and his wife Vickie and Vairon Cronon and his wife Priscilla. Two daughters; Retha Feltman and her husband Harry and Clarice Pullen. Nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Three brothers; Robert, Larry and Harold Cronon all of Gordon County. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A celebration of Mr. Cronon life will be conducted Sunday November 9th at 4pm at New Town Baptist Church. With Rev. Joe Garrett and Rev. David Ray officiating. Faye Bentley will have charge of the music. Burial will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Garden. Pallbearers serving include, Dan Garner, Marty Singleton, Mike Ralston,Eddie Watkins, Harvey Blackstock, E.L. Ray, Christopher Feltman and Kenny Seabolt. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 4 until 8pm.
