Frankie Nell Holsomback

Frankie Nell Holsomback, age 88 of Calhoun, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016 in Floyd Medical Center. Frankie was born on March 29, 1928 in Nelson, Georgia, daughter of the late Doll Rooney and Lucy Belle Cochran Rooney. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and was retired from the Calhoun City Schools were she had worked in the lunchroom for ten years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Talmadge Holsomback; a son, Terry Holsomback; and a daughter, Gail Ledford. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Frankie is survived by her three sons, Ronnie Rooney and his wife Lynn of Trenton, Steve Holsomback and his wife Brenda of Calhoun, and Tony Holsomback of Calhoun; daughter, Belva Swably of Calhoun; six grandchildren, Michael Holsomback, Nicole Rooney, Justin Ledford, Brandon Ledford, Nicklaus Holsomback, and Adam Holsomback; and three great-grandchildren, Crimsom Rooney, Coy Ledford, and River Lang. Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 9th at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Rice officiating. Faye Pierce will have charge of music. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will be Nicklaus Holsomback, Justin Ledford, Joel Ostuw, Ronnie Reeves, Charlie Kirby, and Brandon Ledford. Honorary Pallbearers will be member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW, retirees of the Calhoun City Lunch Room. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 4 PM until 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
