Joyce Parker Couey, age 88, of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday, June 5th in Regency Park Health Center in Dalton.

 

Joyce was born on April 23, 1936, in Atlanta, Georgia. Daughter of the late Frank Parker and Ola Belle Adams Parker. She was the church secretary for Oakland Baptist Church in Roanoke, Virginia before her retirement. Joyce who was known as “The Nan” was a member of the Calhoun First Baptist Church.

 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Phillip Gary Parker. 

 

Survivors include her husband, Anderson Lamar Couey. Her children are Andy Couey and his wife Dona, Tami Duda and her husband Steven, and Scott Couey and his wife Inas. Grandchildren, Adrain Paige Couey, Jeremy Couey, and Kailey Duda Pulliam. Her great-grandchildren Hayden Tyler Pulliam, Linux Vera, Lincoln Campbell, and Evie Campbell also survives. 


The family would like to thank Stacie Dodd and the staff of Regency Park Health and Rehab for the care they gave to Frankie.
 

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, June 8th at 11 am in Fain Cemetery with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 am until 10:45 am at the funeral home.
