Frances Brown Ralston, age 77 of Calhoun died at 11:00 PM, Friday, March 4 in Gordon Hospital.
Frances was born in Gordon County, February 8, 1934, daughter of the late Joe Brown and Myrtle Bunch Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband Ernest Ralston and a son. Joel Brent Ralston. She had partnered with her husband in their family farm; as publishers of the Calhoun News-Dispatch Newspaper; and during the time that Ernest served in the Georgia General Assembly as state representative.
She had attended the South Calhoun Baptist Church and the Calhoun Community Church.
Frances is survived by her son, John David Ralston and his wife Madison of Chattanooga, and a granddaughter, Scarlett Jane Ralston; special friend, Charles Williams; caregiver, Opal Ingle, and guardian and friend, Glenda Ford.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 7 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Bert Vaughn officiating; burial will be in the Oakman United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Ralston family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.
Active pallbearers are Mike Mealor, Derek Jones, Danny Ingle, Clay Brown, and Jack Dickey. Honorary pallbearers are C.W. Ralston, J.W. Ralston, and Lee Ralston. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:45 AM Monday.
